About Lake Fishing Iceland
Our goal is to provide a unique fishing experience while enjoying the breathtaking landscape of Iceland. We focus on providing a fishing adventure at peaceful and secluded lakes around Iceland in relatively small groups; a maximum of three persons, along with a tour guide, participate on any tour.
We exclusively target trout and arctic char – mainly with spinners, other artificial tackle or with live bait. Fly-fishermen are welcome to bring their poles as well, though.
After a day by the lake, we will be happy to prepare your catch for dinner: trout burger, smoked trout or simply fried in a pan. Upon request, we can smoke your fish and package them for you to take home. Curious? Browse our photo gallery for some impressions of previous trips!
Trips include:
- Transportation from/to airport/hotel in Reykjavik or other locations
- Overnight stay at a local hotel, guest house, fishing cabin or in our camper (depending on your choice/preference)
- Fishing permits for each lake
- Transportation from your accommodation to the lake
- Lunch at the lake (“Cold Lunch” or fresh fish)
- Upon request: stop at hot pods
- Upon request: smoking & packaging of trout/arctic char to take home (please get information about importing fish to your respective country beforehand)
- If you do not have your own gear, we supply rods and other equipment
Good to Know
- If you are bringing your own fishing gear: each piece – reels, rods, artificial bait & waders – needs to be disinfected before entering Iceland. You can do this before departure at a veterinarian in your home country (documentation required – if possible in English) or upon arrival at Icelandic customs.
- Clothing: weather conditions in Iceland can change frequently – even throughout the day. Thus, it is best to wear multiple light layers of clothing that you can take off if necessary. A rain jacket is a must! And for our stops at hot pods: bring your bathing suit & towel!
- Insurance is responsibility of each participant!
- Be advised that some tours may require a certain level of fitness since it may involve a short hike to the lake; let us know if you prefer lakes with easier access.
